Welcome to the TipMate blog

Fewer customers carry cash every year, and more waiters finish a shift without a single tip. Not because nobody wanted to leave one, but because nobody had change. That is where this blog comes from.
What we will write about
Three things, without filler:
- Tipping: how it actually works in Spain, what the law says, how much people really leave, and what changes when payment goes digital.
- Cashless payments: what is happening across hospitality, from card terminals to QR codes, and what it means for floor staff.
- News: the restaurants, hotels and salons joining TipMate, and what they learned in their first few weeks.
Who it is for
For owners and managers wondering whether QR tipping genuinely works, and for waiters, receptionists and stylists who want to understand how they get their share. We write for people on their feet for twelve hours, not for people reading reports.
How TipMate works, briefly
The customer scans a QR code at the table, picks an amount, and pays by card. The tip goes straight to the worker without passing through the business till. It is free for the venue and live within 48 hours.
